The Server Labs has taken the popular online survey application from a traditional server-based environment to the Cloud. The Server Labs Rapid Cloud Transition was the key in the smooth migration.

The Server Labs has successfully migrated e-encuesta.com, the online survey application of Webtools, provider of online market research and communication tools, from a traditional data processing centre to the Amazon public Cloud. As a result, e-encuesta.com is able to service a practically unlimited number of clients and at the same time give its business an important boost whilst reducing costs substantially. The Server Labs Rapid Cloud Transition was a key part in the project, ensuring a fast and smooth migration process.

The Server Labs is leading the improvement of ARCO, Metro de Madrid’s real-time information system for its train drivers. The assignment – which forms part of a 3-year project – is expected to reduce CPU usage.

Geneva, 1 March 2012. Today a consortium of leading IT providers, including The Server Labs, and three of Europe’s biggest research centres (CERN1, EMBL2 and ESA3) announced a partnership to launch a European cloud computing platform. "Helix Nebula - the Science Cloud", will support the massive IT requirements of European scientists, and become available to governmental organisations and industry after an initial pilot phase.

The Server Labs has been chosen by BBVA to develop a completely revised version of its corporate security application Faro in order to unify and streamline the application throughout all countries in which BBVA operates. The new security application, which will cover corporate security management tasks, will be rolled out in four stages.

The Server Labs has implemented BBVA’s pilot development architecture based on The Server Labs Enterprise Development Platform (Cloud version). 25th January, 2011: The Server Labs (TSL) is undertaking an in-depth market study to assess the overall feasibility and technical and financial suitability of using cloud, grid, supercomputing or other type of computing services and solutions for EUMETSAT’s MTG (METEOSAT Third Generation) programme. Throughout the project The Server Labs will identify the best solution(s) for long-term reduction of costs.

The Server Labs is working with CNIO to enable the Spanish national cancer research organisation to overcome the bottleneck of data processing in its research programmes. In an initial feasibility study, The Server Labs is assessing how to transfer the vast computing requirements of CNIO’s research projects to the Cloud, aiming to make the processing more agile whilst bringing down cost and reducing the need for in-house infrastructure.

25th October, 2010: The Server Labs (TSL) is working on a feasibility study to identify a solution how to upscale CNIO’s computational capacity whilst minimizing the cost of data processing using the public Cloud.

The Server Labs is acting as corporate host in the MIT-Spain Internship program. Over a 3 month period The Server Labs is integrating a MIT student in one of its running science projects, thus enabling the graduate to gain practical international work experience in Spain.

1st October, 2010: The Server Labs (TSL) is collaborating with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s MIT-Spain Program to provide its students with an opportunity to gain practical scientific work experience.

The Server Labs provided ATI with servers and network hardware intended for the non-profit organisation’s solidarity programme.

21 May, 2010: The Server Labs (TSL) have provided ATI, a non-profit organisation for the Spanish IT sector, with a consignment of fully functional servers and network equipment destined for ATI’s programme “Informática Solidaria”.

The equipment became obsolete when The Server Labs recently moved their entire data centre to Amazon's EC2 cloud, saving substantial costs in the process.

After the remarkable results of an initial feasibility study, The Server Labs (TSL) and ESA are now launching a 20 times larger follow-up project to further expand on the positive outcome of the first study. Starting with its Gaia project the European Space Agency (ESA) is considering relocating its data processing for future projects and test environments to The Cloud. Moving part of Gaia’s data processing to The Cloud has the potential to provide ESA with savings of up to 50% translating into hundreds of thousands of Euros.

The ambitious Gaia project aims to create a three-dimensional map of unprecedented size and precision charting the composition, formation and evolution of over one billion stars (around 1% of our Galaxy).
